Four steps. Then matches.
Piaar is fast on purpose. You're done setting up before your coffee gets cold.
Pick what you offer
Three to ten skills you can teach, help with, or get paid for. Specific beats generic every time.
Pick what you want
Three to ten skills you're looking to learn or hire for. Piaar reads both sides.
Set your radius
30 km by default. Tight enough to actually meet, wide enough for a real city.
Message or connect
Light ask: send a message request. Big ask: invite into your Trusted Network.
Six things most apps get wrong.
Piaar is deliberate about every one.
Semantic skills matching
Other apps match on who you are. Piaar scores exactly one thing: how well the skills someone offers cover the skills you’re looking for. The matching is semantic — “machine learning” finds “deep learning” — and the score is pure skills fit. Distance only decides who’s nearby; it never changes the score.
Semantic, not keyword
"Machine learning" finds people who wrote "neural networks". Real understanding, no tag spam.
Offer + looking-for, in one profile
Two colors, two roles. Teal for what you bring. Coral for what you need. You're never just one or the other.

See matches as ranked cards or as pins on an OpenStreetMap. Same data, your choice of geometry. Tap a pin, read the peek, decide.
Graduated connection
Message request first, full connection second. No swipes, no matches that vanish.
Quiet by default
No feed, no streaks, no notifications begging you back. The app earns its open by being useful.
Built in Sweden
GDPR is home turf. The privacy model isn't a bolt-on, it's the architecture.
Discovery is the start, not the whole app.
Once you've found the right people, Piaar helps you actually meet, build a network, and run the events where connections happen.
Events, built for organizers
Anyone can create a meetup. Conference and trade-show organizers get more: branded event pages, resources attendees can open in-app (flyer, schedule, floor plan), skills-matching between guests, and — uniquely — a post-event report that shows the connections and skill-matches your event actually created. The networking ROI no one else can measure.
Your trusted network
A private, visible mesh of the people you've actually connected with — not a follower count, and never public.
Find each other, in person
Agreed to meet at a busy venue? A private Bluetooth handshake — only after you both accept — guides the last few metres to each other. No location is shared, and it runs only while you're looking.
Share what you know
Short articles from the community sit alongside discovery. Everything published is checked before it goes live, so the space stays professional.
The whole experience, in your pocket.

Privacy isn't a settings page. It's how the matching engine was designed in the first place.
Explainable matching
Every score traces back to the skills that generated it. No hidden weights. No shadow profiling. You see why a match surfaced, every time.
Consent over collection
We collect what's needed to match you well, and nothing else. Discoverable-off in one tap. Precise location is optional. Your data leaves with you.
No scraping. No resale.
Piaar doesn't ingest public profiles, doesn't sell skills data, doesn't follow you between events. The platform answers to you.
Questions, answered.
Is Piaar free?
Yes, during beta. We're still figuring out long-term pricing. When that changes, current users will be told months in advance, with grandfather pricing on the table.
How is this different from LinkedIn?
LinkedIn shows you who's already in your orbit. Piaar shows you people whose offered skills match what you’re looking for, within your city. It's a different problem and a different shape of network.
How does the matching actually work?
Piaar understands skills by meaning, not keywords — "machine learning" and "neural networks" count as neighbors. Your score with someone reflects how well their offered skills cover what you're looking for, and skill fit is the only thing that drives it. Distance is a filter that decides who appears, never part of the score. The exact formula is proprietary, but we can explain any specific score to you on request — that's the EU AI Act commitment.
Where is my data stored?
Firebase, with EU region pinning. We retain only what's needed for matching. Deleting your account removes your profile from search and matches immediately, and downstream caches within 7 days.
Can I hide from specific people?
Yes. You can block anyone from their profile or a chat — blocking hides you both from each other everywhere (search, map, matches) and deactivates any conversation between you. The other person is never told. You can also report a user to us directly from the app. And if you want out of discovery entirely, you can go fully non-discoverable in one tap, with optional ~200 m location-grid obfuscation if you don't want pin-accurate placement.
Is the app on iOS and Android?
Yes — Piaar is built in Flutter, so the same app ships to both. Web is on the roadmap but not yet live.
