Delete your account

You can delete your Piaar account and the personal data attached to it at any time, directly from the app. This page explains how, what gets removed, and how long it takes — consistent with our Privacy policy.

Last updated: 11 July 2026 · Version 2.2

Delete from the app (fastest)

Open Piaar and go to Account → Delete account. The app asks you to confirm and to briefly sign in again — so nobody else who picks up your phone can delete your account — and then deletion starts immediately. No email needed, no waiting for us.

How the in-app deletion works

  1. In the app, open Account → Delete account.
  2. Read what will be removed, and confirm you want to proceed.
  3. Verify it's really you — depending on how you signed up, you'll re-enter your password or re-confirm through Google, Apple, or LinkedIn.
  4. Deletion starts immediately. Your profile disappears from search and matches right away, and you're signed out on all devices when it completes.

Can't access the app?

You can also request deletion by email. Write to us from the email address on your Piaar account with "Delete my account" as the subject. We'll verify the request is really from you and act on it without undue delay — at the latest within one month of receiving it, as the GDPR requires.

What gets deleted

How long it takes

Immediately
Your profile is removed from search and matches, and you stop appearing to other people.
Within 7 days
Downstream caches and match results clear.
Within 35 days
Backups roll over and the last copies are gone.

What we may keep, and why

We retain a limited amount of information only where the law requires it — for example records needed for tax, fraud-prevention, or statutory compliance — and only for as long as necessary. Messages you sent may remain visible to the other person in their own copy of a conversation, shown as coming from a deleted account.

Your other rights

Deletion (the GDPR “right to erasure”) is one of several rights you have. You can also ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, export it in a portable format, or restrict or object to certain processing. To exercise any of these, email privacy@piaartech.com. If you're in the EU/EEA and feel we've mishandled your data, you can complain to your local authority — in Sweden, the Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten (IMY). Full detail is in our Privacy policy.
